May 2020 Bulletin
Council #1621 Blog * Written by dkinker
Our next meeting is planned to be Tuesday May 19 at the Faith Formation Center
The business meeting will begin at 7:00 pm
With the current restrictions of group meetings being postponed it is yet to be determined if we will be able to hold a regular council meeting in May. Please watch your emails and check radio for cancelations. And when a need arises, you will be receiving information that will require your action as a council member to vote on and reply. We may be holding elections this year by using email and regular mail.
If you have an e-mail address but have not received messages from Knights of Columbus Email firstname.lastname@example.org
THEN PLEASE SEND YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS TO FINANCIAL SEC MIKE ONEY AT email@example.com
REMEMBER THAT EVEN THOUGH THE MESSAGE FROM SUPREME SAYS NO REPLY YOU CAN USE YOUR REPLY BUTTON AND YOUR MESSAGE WILL GO DIRECTLY TO FS ONEY.
We will be trying to reach each of you for your personal involvement in Council 1621 action. It will be most difficult in these times of social distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Supreme Council KofC conducted an online exemplification of the combined Charity-Unity-Fraternity degrees on April 16. Council 1621 had four people register for participation in the ceremony at their homes:
Former Candidates Jared Buysse & Raphael Onyeaghala are now 3rd degree members of Council 1621
1st degree members Tim VanMoer and Paul Lanoue advanced to the 3rd degree.
Be sure to relate congratulations to them when you get the chance using social media or social distancing.
Our thanks go out to all the members who helped with the one Lenten Fish Fry we were able to hold. Chairmen Kevin Gruhot and Mike Gruhot kept all organized and with the assistance of a number of volunteers working the event it was the biggest turnout for a single fish supper in several years.
At a recent board meeting using the zoom communications the board has DEFERRED COUNCIL ACTION on most all donations to wait until the June meeting. We definitely hope to be able to get together by then even if we have to select a larger meeting room when social distancing would still be required. Due to the inability to hold all fundraisers this year we will need to stretch our charitable dollars as far as possible to the most needed causes.
