January 2020 Bulletin

Council #1621 Blog * Written by dkinker

Our next meeting will be Tuesday January 21 at the Faith Formation Center

The business meeting will begin at 7:00 pm

We welcome our newest member Tim VanMoer who joined Council 1621 on Dec 12 through the 1st degree video.  Members present at the ceremony were DD Roger Coudron, FS Mike Oney, Trustee Jeff Wyffels and Don Kinker.  Field Agent Seth Myhre presented the program.  Tim works at the ADM corn processing plant.

Financial Secretary Oney has reported that he aims to mail the 2020 dues notices the end of December.  Please take action on submitting your payment by JAN 30 to avoid sending a second notice.  Remember that during 2020 we will be supporting two in the seminary—Rev Mr (Deacon) Shawn Polman of St Mary’s and new Seminarian Nolan Meyer of Holy Redeemer.   Rev Mr Polman is scheduled to be ordained in June 2020.

There has been renewed interest in placing an order for KC shirts.  Along with our newer members in the council some of you “older timers” may be interested in ordering a new shirt or different colored shirt.  Be watching for information in the mail on prices, sizes and colors.

Knights got together on Sat Dec 7 and moved our paraphernalia from storage at Rich Louwagie’s facility to a back room in the Faith Formation Center.  We now have all our merchandise items at the center or in Carlin Hall at church.

GK Trost extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to the members who graciously donated soups and sandwich to make our SOUP & SANDWICH FOR SEMINARIANS a rewarding event on Dec 14.  Fr Mark Steffl contributed his world renowned white chicken chili served along with regular chili, chicken noodle, cheeseburger soup and vegetable beef barley.  The turkey salad spread used on the open face sandwiches also had a lot of people going after seconds.  Thanks also to the members who helped with the serving and catering of the meal.   Just Over $900 was raised for the financial assistance to the seminarians.

Sunday Jan 26 will be our first 2020 fundraiser with a Pancake Breakfast serving from 8 am to 12.00 noon in Carlin Hall.  The fundraiser proceeds will be used for general council approval of requests from church-school-community.   All you can eat of pancakes, sausages and eggs.  Adequate time to dine after all the morning masses. Free will offering.

TM IY continues on Friday Mornings at 5:45 am in Carlin Hall.  Check church bulletin or announcements in their e-mail program for more details or date changes.

Here’s wishing each and every member of Council 1621 and their families a
