A big THANK YOU to those who helped in the January fundraisers – Soup & Sandwich for Seminarians on January 12 and the Pancake Breakfast on January 27. We also thank our patrons for their support. We found out at the pancake breakfast that the cold weather affected our gas flow and did not heat the grills properly for timely cooking. Your patience was greatly appreciated.
Financial Secretary Don Kinker reports that 2019 dues have been coming on a regular pace. If you have not sent your remittance in please do so now. The second dues notice will be going out the third week of February.
If you wish to purchase more tickets for the MN Foundation raffle contact FS Don Kinker at 537-1367. To be sure everyone has a chance to enter the tickets purchased will be sent to the foundation in April. This means that those who made their check payable to the foundation will not have their check cashed until April or May. This is an easy fundraiser for the council and offers you the opportunity to win great cash prizes. Drawing for prizes will be at the state convention in May.
2018 Charitable Contributions
A few members asked how many pancakes we served to help raise the $11,205 contributed by Council 1621 for the 2018 charitable programs and events. There were two main areas the funds came from. We raised $6,126 through fundraising events (pancake breakfasts, fish fries, Seminarian Soup & Sandwich and other donations). We also received a one-time distribution of $6,488 from the sale proceeds of the KC Building. The bulk of the net proceeds from the building sale was placed in an interest bearing account to earn income and award annual funds directly to charitable programs by the building corporation committee or distributed to the council for their contributions. We also held approximately $1,400 to be considered for 2019 charitable considerations.
PLEASE REMEMBER THE SUCCESS OF OUR FUND RAISERS DETERMINES THE STRENGTH OF OUR CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS.
For charitable contributions to be considered by the council please send requests to Grand Knight John Trost at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact any of the other officers.
