April 2020 Bulletin

Council #1621 Blog * Written by dkinker

Our next meeting is planned to be Tuesday April 17 at the Faith Formation Center

The business meeting will begin at 7:00 pm

With the current restrictions of group meetings it is yet to be determined if we will be able to hold a regular council meeting.  Please pay attention to messages sent by FS Mike Oney through the Supreme e-mail program, check for messages from the calling tree and check changes through the radio cancellations and changes web site.

The board of directors (Council Officers) has held two meetings in discussing future activities on the council level.  Some matters will require that council members be notified and ask them to respond via email.  Some of the items passed at the Board meeting require they be presented to the council.  Some of them will  require a voting action the same as being at a meeting.

Supreme has related that we can continue to operate as a council through internet connections.  Our most readily source is the use of e-mail messages.  Be sure that when Financial Secretary Mike Oney sends a message through the Supreme program that you open it and read it.

REMEMBER – that even though the message says <no reply@kofc.org> you can use your reply arrow or button and the message will automatically be returned to FS Oney.  This may be our best alternative to function when we cannot hold a formal group meeting.

It is not known yet how long our restrictions will last but we know the social distancing could last a lot longer than the end of March.  It is affecting our personal lives along with church services, businesses and health care.  Even though the Diocese has suspended  public  masses Fr Steffl has stated that our churches will remain open for individuals to visit and pray and go to confesseion. But remember to consider the social distancing.

If you have not accessed the MN State KC Website the cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic include the state free throw contest; the state 4th Degree Spring exemplification and the state 3rd Degree convention scheduled in May.

The 2020 Tootsie Roll program will be held at a later date.
